Purchase a gift certificate and double the value! I will double your gift certificate amount, so a $100 gift certificate will have a $200 value for the recipient. Gift certificates are available in $5 increments and are good for session fees, portrait prints, mounting, storyboards, cards/announcements/invitations, DVDs, and all other products. You will receive a 4x5.5 card with room for writing the recipients name as well as your name, with the amount written on it, and an envelope for presentation.

Fine Print: Max purchase amount allowed for the double value gift certificates - $200 (a $400 gift certificate value). Double value gift certificates are only good for sessions during 2009. I had some large plastic ornament balls from the craft store, so we gave them to her to try to keep her on the backdrop. Here she's smiling at one rolling away.

I don't know if I like this one better in color or black and white, but I love the way the red dress pops in the color version.

Sneak Peek: Christmas Session

This weekend I got together with this family again for a Christmas session, and I just love working with them! Not only is this little girl adorable and full of smiles, but isn't this family incredibly photogenic?!?

Sneak Peek

Here's a sneak peek from my last session over the weekend. This 6 month old baby girl is seriously cute, and her face just lights up when she smiles! I have also found a new location I just love, not only this one spot on the lake, but the grassy area below where they let her lay on the ground. She seemed to enjoy it too!

I'm working on all the proofs for these two families, and I plan to be done soon! I have another busy weekend ahead, so I plan to get them done before then.

I met with this fun family on Saturday, and wow, these boys are energetic! They kept me smiling the whole time though, and after a while they both really seemed to enjoy being followed with a camera.

Fall Foliage

I had a session this afternoon, and while waiting for my clients to arrive I couldn't resist shooting the fall foliage on the lake. We were planning a drive up to Skyline Drive last weekend so I could get some great shots of foliage in the mountains, but Camden's virus symptoms showed up and we cancelled the drive. We've been planning to make that day trip (stop a Luray Caverns) every year since we've been married, but every year we either miss peak and decide not to go or something comes up. The colors are beautiful around here now anyway, and I just love it!

Session Fees - UPDATED - Small Change

UPDATED: I realize that not all families would like a 4x6 of each image, so along with the $100 session fee I will give you the option of the 4x6s or or a $40 print credit.

After looking at my prices and policies, the orders over the past 6 months, and through conversations with many clients, I have decided to make a change. I know that I have blogged about a few changes recently, but after a lot of consideration and factoring in the other things I just mentioned, this is what I have decided will work best.

Starting January 1, 2009, there will be a session fee of $100 AND you will receive 50-4x6s prints (I will show 50 images in your proof gallery). What will happen is that once your proofs are complete, I will order your 4x6s, ship them to you (free of charge), and place your proofs in the online gallery for your viewing and ordering (if you choose to order more). These 4x6s are your actual prints, not proofs, they will not be marked as proofs, and will be printed at the same professional lab on the same high quality paper as regular orders.

Session fees will be due at the start of the session (same session fee for studio or on location) and you will have your 4x6 prints within 1-2 weeks of your session. Your discounts (from signing release forms, entering contests, etc.) can be applied to the session fee.

If you currently have a session scheduled, or have contacted me to schedule a session, then this will not affect you. However, this is a great deal so if you want to pay the session fee and receive the 50-4x6 prints guaranteed, then you may certainly go that route!
